YRL Holiday

We spent a little time this holiday season, taking in the view at YRL. I love the winter there because summer sounds quiet themselves and winter sounds almost new.

Melting landscape

After a somewhat stressful day, this was my wind-down.
"I felt...I needed the landscape to melt"

Thursday, October 30, 2008

I woke up one morning to a sunrise that cast such beautiful light in my room, I had to grab my camera. I kept shooting and looking at the images, and shooting and looking,.."I don't have it yet!" But quite frankly, it was never really mine to have....it really feels like that sometimes, like I'm just a kid chasing rainbows, looking for treasure.

Freedom

This is a little art doodle I did last night, I would like to take the time to work on the concept a little more on canvas, but we'll see I guess.

Images of childhood

We made the mistake of going to the fair during bracelet night (aka: teen madness). The lines were long and teenagers were many. So we split up and did the double-time-line. As a child, the fair rides held a sense of mystery, right up until those teen years when you've finally mustered the courage to conquer that final ride. Then you end up wishing you could go back to life from the spectator side of the curtain.

Yellowstone River Lodge and Cabins

The cabins

The Bed and Breakfast

Catch of the day
I've gotten a few requests to post some pictures of the YRL and cabins, so here you go: for those of you who aren't familiar with the place, it's located about a half-hour west of Billings, between Park City and Columbus. There are currently two cabins and the Bed and Breakfast, all located on Yellowstone Riverfront. I especially love the privacy and convenience of the cabins, mostly because I like nature, but I am not it's biggest fan. The cabins sit on a tree-enclosed meadow, close to the River and have a sitting area and BBQ on the deck, Jacuzzi, wood fireplace and granite kitchen inside with a great picture window, so I can be in nature without being entirely in nature. Oh, and the owners are pretty neat people too.
